It was such a big night on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel - the Golden Globe Awards celebrated its 69th year with brightest stars from the movie and television industries. The stars looked every bit as stunning as everyone expected with dazzling gowns, pretty makeup and of course, eye-catching hairstyles! From chic updos and sparkly headbands to glossy cascading waves and edgy short hair, the celebrities furnished us with endless inspiration for the trends of spring 2012. Check them out and get inspired for your next glamour look!

Chic, Glam Updos
One of the biggest hairstyle trends that ruled the red carpet of the 2012 Golden Global Awards was: elegant updos!
Loads of celebs were spotted rocking gorgeous updo hairstyles that night, but in different versions. Angelina Jolie, Lea Michele and Natalie Portman opted for chic, fresh updos with all strands pulled back away from the face, exposing their flawless features and stating confidence. Meanwhile, stars like Jessica Alba, Emma Stone and Mila Kunis went for flirty, delicate chignons featuring a side part and sweeping bangs.
All these updo hairstyles are infused with grace and elegance and are easy to recreate. Pick one that you love and rock it to a formal event; you will surely steal the spotlight.

Sparkly Headband Accessories
We haven't seen celebs wearing hair accessories to the red carpet for a long time, but this year at the 2012 Golden Global Awards, a new trend emerged - adding sparkly headbands; and we love how amazingly they switched things up!
Charlize Theron and Eve Mavrakis styled their hair in an updo like many others, but made their look instantly stand out by adding a glittering jeweled headband; while Michelle Williams showed that her usual soft pixie could be seriously glam when accessorized with a black silk headband.
The A-listers here proved that adding a headband would be the most effortless yet effective way to upgrade you look; certainly your guys won't be able to resist them!

Glossy Cascading Waves
Long cascading waves prevailed in 2011 and remain a strong trend at the 2012 Golden Global Awards red carpet. Nicole Kidman looked like a demure mermaid with side-parted shiny blonde waves. Kyle Richards swept her ravishing brunette waves over one shoulder, looking extremely hot and sexy. Salma Hayek finished her glossy curls to perfection with brown highlight and a chic center part.
Flaunt your long waves in the natural way like these beauty divas this spring and you will have all eyes on you wherever you go.

Edgy, Playful Short Hair
Want to cause a stir with a funky, striking look in 2012? There is no better option than edgy short hair and you could play with it in various ways as these ladies showed at the 2012 Golden Global Awards:
Evan Rachel Wood pulled off a goddess look by brushing back her short hair tight and sleek. Morena Baccarin was cute and vibrant with a soft, spiked-up curly pixie. Tilda Swinton teamed her clean cut with voluminous waves at the top and had the most spectacular style of the night. So be bold to experiment with your short hair and have fun!
